Tennis Camp July 20-24

Serve up some fun this summer at Tennis Camp! Hosted by the Southside Area Tennis Association (SATA), this free camp introduces young athletes to the exciting game of tennis while helping them build confidence, coordination, and lifelong skills.

Whether your child has never picked up a racket or already enjoys playing, campers will receive age-appropriate instruction in a fun, encouraging environment led by experienced tennis instructors.

Throughout the week, participants will learn:

  • Tennis fundamentals and proper technique
  • Forehand and backhand strokes
  • Serving and returning
  • Footwork and agility
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Sportsmanship and teamwork

Tennis is a sport that promotes physical fitness, focus, and perseverance while providing a fun way to stay active. Campers will enjoy skill-building drills, games, and activities designed to help them improve while making new friends.

I, the undersigned, as the parent or legal guardian of the above-named participant (herinafter "Participant"), in consideration for allowing the Participant to participate in the RDF camp (hereinafter "Camp"), do herby agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • Acknowledgment of Risks: I understand and acknowledge that the activities the Participant will engage in during the Camp may include physical activities, outdoor recreation, use of equipment, and transportation provided by third parties, all of which may carry inherent risks including personal injury, property damage, illness, and death. I understand that despite safety precautions taken by the Recreation Development Foundation and its contractors, not all risks can be prevented. I assume all risks, both known and unknown, of the Participant’s involvement in the Camp.
  • Release of Waiver of Claims: I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Recreation Development Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and any third parties (contractors, sponsors, or advertisers) involved in the Camp (collectively referred to as “Releasees”) from any and all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs, or expenses which I, the Participant, or any other family members or heirs may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with the Participant’s participation in the Camp, including without limitation any liabilities or claims arising from personal injury, death, or property damage, whether arising from the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise.
  • Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees against any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages, and liabilities, including attorney’s fees brought as a result of the Participant’s involvement in the Camp and to reimburse the Releasees for any such expenses incurred.
  • Consent to Medical Treatment: I hereby give my consent for the Participant to receive medical treatment deemed necessary in the event of injury, accident, or illness during the Camp. I agree to be financially responsible for any medical bills incurred as a result of medical treatment provided to the Participant.
  • Photographic Release: I grant permission to the Recreation Development Foundation and its agents or assigns to use photographs, videotapes, or other media taken of the Participant during the Camp for promotional, sales, publicity, and advertising purposes for an indefinite period of time.
  • Severability: If any portion of this waiver is held invalid, the remainder of the waiver will continue in full legal force and effect.
  • Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver of liability and fully understand its terms. I understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing this waiver freely and voluntarily, and intend by my signature for this to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.

This document is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of North Carolina and that if any portion hereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal and binding effect.
